We produce small-batch rough sawn lumber for builders, woodworkers, property owners and cottage projects throughout the Havelock, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes and surrounding area.

Lumber From The North River
Our lumber is milled on-site from timber harvested from the property and other local logs.
We cut in relatively small batches, so available dimensions, lengths and drying status change throughout the year. Selected lumber is air dried or finished in our solar kiln before sale.
Red Oak Lumber
North River red oak is milled for furniture, woodworking, cabinetry, building projects and other applications where strong, attractive hardwood is required.
Available and upcoming stock may include:
- 4/4, 6/4 and 8/4 lumber
- wide rough sawn boards
- live edge stock
- longer lengths
- kiln-dried red oak when available
Pine Lumber
Our locally milled pine is well suited to siding, sheds, cabins, outbuildings, general construction and woodworking projects.

Rough Sawn & Kiln-Dried Lumber
Depending on the batch, lumber may be available green, air dried or kiln dried.
Our solar kiln allows us to dry selected lumber directly on the property while maintaining control of the process from log to finished board.
If your project requires kiln-dried material, let us know what you need and we can confirm what is currently ready or moving through the kiln.

We document much of the process at The North River — harvesting logs, moving timber, milling boards, drying lumber and eventually building with it.
Some of the lumber available for sale can be traced directly back to the logs and milling projects where it originated.
